Kicking it off right

Hello Earthlings,

It starts tomorrow!  Is it sad that I'm this excited?  I am so ready to start the mad literary dash!

I've had to restrain myself from doing too much research right now, just because I was going stir crazy being unable to actually write.  But I'm planning to go to bed early tonight so that I can wake up at 4am tomorrow and get started.  Woohoo!

Loves!

Must... Resist....

Hello Earthlings,

Aaargh... I'm having such a hard time NOT working on my novel.  I have been brainstorming for the last two days pretty much straight (work?  what's that?) and I really want to put pen to paper!  Or... fingers to... keyboard?

Also, I need some inspiration for aliens.  Anyone?

Anyone?

Oh, that's right.  It's just me.

Le sigh.

NaNoWriMo 2012

Greetings Earthlings (she said as if anyone read this and it wasn't just a place to organize thoughts),

I decided to start this blog because I have made the probably foolish commitment to do NaNoWriMo this year.  If you are not familiar, NaNoWriMo is short for National Novel Writing Month and the goal is to write a 50k word novel during the month of November.  Intrigued?  Check it out here: nanowrimo.org

I have a story.  Sort of.  I have... a setting.  I have a concept.  It all came from a dream.  I won't go into details here, because heaven forbid I post spoilers before I've even started, but basically I have a concept and a very vague, nebulous idea of what I want to do with it.  We'll see where it goes from there.

My intention is to post my novel progress each evening before I go to bed.  I may even post some thoughts, like this, about the writing process.  But come on, who's got time for that when you're doing a Nano?

I welcome your thoughts and comments (if anyone ever decides to read this) but be well forewarned that I won't read or respond to any of them until December.  Why?  Because I need to dive into my story headfirst and if I read your comments (which I'm sure will be insightful and very helpful) I will have the desire to go back and edit.  Editing is not part of Nano.  Editing is for December.

We'll see you then,

Jessie May
